Directions
Walden Woods Farm is a family-owned, BFA certified organic and biodynamic, small vineyard located near Armidale in Northern New South Wales, at an altitude of 1060m. Our Pinot grigio grapes are grown naturally (organically) - no artificial fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides and without irrigation. Our cool climate wine is hand-crafted traditionally. We dwell on one grape with two white wine possibilities: Pinot grigio as a northern Italian light style (less than 12% alcohol) or Pinot grigio with a French accent of Alsace fuller body (more than 12%). The wine is made biodynamically by Scott Wright of Wright Robertson, Glencoe with Doug Hume. Minimal sulphur dioxide is added as the standard preservative for white wines. Our wine has an aroma that can be described as perhaps the grape itself. We care about responsible sharing of wine with food in social settings. Finally, don't forget the growth and production of our wine has a minimal effect on our fragile environment. Walden Woods Farm philosophically reflects Thoreau's everyday efforts to live with fewer essentials, to intertwine with nature and to act with integrity.... Our house policy is based on acts of caring about people and places. We proudly support the New England Wine Show.
